I was inspired to start this blog by a recent article I read, discussing how less professional publications dedicate space and resources to book reviews, and nowadays most people are getting their recommendations off social media. Because TikTokers and the like are getting their recs from elsewhere on social media, it is contributing to a “reading monoculture”, where everyone is reading the same blockbuster novels and every other book gets left behind.

Am I an arbiter of taste? No. Am I kind of funny? I hope so. Will I have opinions on books you’ve never heard of? Most definitely.
